Color

A bonsai tree-style aquarium structure designed to hold moss, plants, and carpeting species in a stable, vertical formation. Rather than laying java moss flat on the substrate, this gives it a framework to grow upwards — creating a natural miniature tree effect that develops over weeks as the plants fill in.

The open lattice construction allows plant roots and rhizomes to anchor naturally. Shrimp, nano fish, and fry also use it as a climbing structure and shelter, making it functional as well as decorative. 130mm wide and 130mm tall — substantial enough to be a focal point in nano and mid-size tanks.

Features

  • Bonsai tree-style frame — gives moss and plants a vertical structure to grow on
  • Open lattice design — plant roots anchor naturally, no glue or thread required
  • Used by shrimp and nano fish as a climbing frame and shelter
  • Stable base sits securely in substrate without floating
  • Fish-safe, aquarium-grade plastic — no toxins, no sharp edges
  • Made from eco-friendly material derived from recycled corn starch
  • 12 colour options — Brown and Green blend most naturally into planted tanks
  • UK-made in our Northumberland workshop

FAQs

What plants work best on this?
Java moss, Christmas moss, and flame moss are the most popular — they attach naturally to the lattice over a few weeks. Anubias nana petite and bucephalandra also work well tied loosely to the branches.

Does it float or stay in place?
The base is designed to sit in substrate and stay anchored. In very light or fine substrates, a small stone on the base helps.

Will shrimp use it?
Yes — neocaridina and caridina shrimp graze on the moss and use the structure as a climbing frame. It becomes a natural gathering point in shrimp-focused tanks.

Which colour should I choose?
Brown or Green blend most naturally once the moss fills in. Black works well in high-contrast aquascapes or dark substrate setups.
