Plecos and corydoras are nocturnal foragers — they need a dark, low shelter during daylight hours to feel secure. Without one, they hide behind filters, wedge themselves under driftwood, or stop eating. Frequently asked questions

Will my pleco actually use it?

Plecos almost always claim a cave within 24-48 hours. They're territorial and prefer enclosed daytime shelters. If your pleco doesn't use it immediately, place it in a quieter corner of the tank away from filter outflow.

Can I bury it under sand or gravel?

Yes — that's one of the main design intents. Bury the top and sides so only the entrance shows. It creates an underground-cave effect and looks completely natural in planted setups.

Is it safe for shrimp?

Yes. PETG is shrimp-safe (no copper, no leaching). The smooth edges won't catch shrimp moults, and the tunnel form gives them a foraging and shelter zone away from larger tankmates.

Will it fit my tank?

The Standard fits nano tanks from 20 litres. The Large suits tanks from 60 litres up. If you have a Fluval Spec, Flex, or other small tank, choose the Standard.

How is this different from your other aquarium caves?

This is the tunnel version — long, low, with two openings, designed to sit at the front or buried under substrate. Our rounded hideaway cave is a single-entrance dome shape for mid-tank placement. Our corner caves fit into 90-degree tank corners. Pick the shape that matches your aquascape.

How do I clean it?

Rinse in tank water during your weekly water change. For algae buildup, scrub with an aquarium-safe brush — never use soap or detergent.
