Almost every deck box on the market is mass-produced overseas and shipped in bulk. Ours aren't. SquadPod deck boxes are precision-manufactured to order by a two-person team in our own workshop in the North East of England. Here's why that matters.
UK-made to order vs imported mass-produced
| UK-made to order (SquadPod) | Imported, mass-produced | |

| Where it's made | Our UK workshop | Usually overseas |
| Colour choice | Five colourways, or pick your own on the Card Stand box | Whatever was produced in the batch |
| Design updates | We can improve a design straight away | Waits for the next production run |
| Support | Talk to the people who make it | Often a reseller |
| Price | £19.99–£24.95 | From very cheap to premium |
Where are SquadPod deck boxes made?
In our own workshop in the North East of England. Every box is made, finished and checked in-house before it's dispatched, by the same team that designs them.
What does "precision-manufactured" mean?
It means each part is produced on our own production equipment to tight tolerances, so hinges, latches and lids fit properly every time. We then assemble and check each box by hand. It's how we make small runs in lots of colours without warehouses full of stock.
Why are your deck boxes made to order?
Making to order lets us offer more colour choice, avoid waste from unsold stock and roll out design improvements immediately. It's also why the Commander Deck Box with Card Stand can be made in your own two-colour combination.
Is a UK-made deck box more expensive?
Not necessarily. SquadPod Slim is £19.99, which sits below many imported premium Commander boxes. You can find cheaper boxes, but rarely with a display window, latch and token space at this price.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes. We ship to Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia as well as across the UK. Details are in WarSplay now ships worldwide.
Who makes WarSplay and SquadPod?
We're Blubbercove Ltd, a small UK maker. WarSplay started with modular display stands for painted miniatures, and SquadPod is our range for card players. Read Introducing SquadPod Slim or see our miniature display stands.
What are your deck boxes made from?
Rigid plastic, with a coloured body and contrasting lid and latch. We go into the materials we use, and why, in what our products are made from.
